Maximise Your Private Health Insurance for Orthodontic Treatment!

At Victoria Park Orthodontics, we want to help you get the most out of your private health insurance. While you don’t need orthodontic cover to begin treatment, if you do have it, it’s great to take advantage of any available rebates!

Before your consultation, we recommend contacting your health fund to ask:

• Is there a lifetime limit for orthodontics?
• What is my annual limit for orthodontic claims?
• Do I need to submit my claim before the end of the financial year?
• Is there a deadline for claiming before the end of the calendar year?

Estimated Rebates

Your health fund may be able to provide an estimated refund based on specific orthodontic item numbers. Some common codes include:

• 015 – Consultation without a referral
• 017 – Consultation with a referral
• 036 – Lateral Cephalometric X-ray (Lat Ceph)
• 037 – Orthopantomogram (OPG)
• 072 – Intraoral Photos
• 073 – Extraoral Photos
• 843 – Orthodontic Expander
• 881 – Braces (Upper and Lower) (sometimes listed as 831 x 2)
• 825 x 2 – Invisalign® Treatment

We do offer Hicaps at Vic Park Ortho although some health funds (eg. HBF) won’t allow orthodontic items to be claimed via Hicaps. All consult and records items can be claimed, and most health funds allow claiming of orthodontic items on the day.
